Funding and Financial Disclosure Policy
Policy Statement:
Transparency about funding sources is essential for assessing potential influences on research. All authors must disclose all sources of financial support for the research reported in their manuscript.
Author Requirements:
· Funding Statement: A "Funding" section must be included in the manuscript, placed before the acknowledgments. Authors must list all granting agencies, grant numbers, and the role of the funder(s) in study design, data collection, analysis, decision to publish, or manuscript preparation.
· No Article Processing Charges (APCs): The Archives of Hospital Medicine is a fully open access journal with no publication fees (no APCs). All articles are published free of charge to authors. Upon publication, articles are immediately and permanently available to all readers under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC) 4.0 International license. Authors and readers must note that this license permits sharing and adaptation for non-commercial purposes only.
· Funder Compliance: Authors are responsible for ensuring their chosen license (CC BY-NC 4.0) complies with their funder's open access mandates, as some major funders require the less restrictive CC BY license.
· Conflict of Interest: All financial and non-financial competing interests must be declared in a separate "Competing Interests" section, following the funding statement.
Example Funding Statement for Articles:
"This work was supported by the National Institutes of Health [grant numbers XXXXX, YYYYY]. The funders had no role in study design, data collection and analysis, decision to publish, or preparation of the manuscript."
