Long-term Digital Preservation (Archiving) Policy
Policy Statement:
The Archives of Hospital Medicine is committed to the permanent and secure long-term preservation of its scholarly content. To ensure this, the journal participates in the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system. LOCKSS provides a distributed, open-source digital preservation framework that allows libraries to create permanent, secure archives of the journal's content. This guarantees that all published articles will remain accessible and usable for researchers and future generations, preserving the full textual and data content.
Implementation:
The journal's content is preserved within the global LOCKSS network. This system ensures the long-term survival of web-based scholarly publications by automatically collecting, storing, and preserving access to the journal. If the journal becomes unavailable from its primary source, the preserved copies in the LOCKSS network can be restored.
